Principal's Message
Welcome to Osgoode Public School! Our wonderful school serves students from first year Kindergarten to Grade 6, and offers both Early French Immersion (EFI) and Regular English programs. Of our 275 students, about 25% are in Kindergarten, 25% are in Grades 1 to 6 in the English stream, and the remaining 50% in Grades 1 to 6 in EFI.
As with all schools throughout the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board, Osgoode PS has a strong focus on early literacy development and on positive mental health and wellbeing for all students. Our staff is exceptionally caring, and all members of our team - teachers, early childhood educators, educational assistants, office staff, custodians, and early learning assistants - work hard every day for the academic, social, and emotional development of our students.
Our school offers before- and after-school care for children from Kindergarten to Grade 6. Care is available each day from 7:00 to 8:00 a.m. and again from 2:45 to 6:00 p.m. Our team of dedicated early childhood educators and early learning assistants design and deliver a program that keep children safe, active, and engaged.
Our school day begins at 8:15 a.m. and finishes at 2:45 p.m. The learning time is divided into three instructional blocks of 8:15 to 10:15, then 11:00 to 1:00, and finally 1:45 to 2:45. Between instructional blocks, nutrition breaks and outdoor recesses allow students to refuel and re-energize.
I am very proud to welcome you to Osgoode Public School. Together, with the staff team, I stand ready to work in partnership with all families in our community in order to serve the best interests of the students.
Sincerely,
Dan Martin, proud principal
