Holiday Shopping Day 2022
will be held in the gym on Friday, December 16!

All students will have a chance to "shop" for gifts for everyone in their household, wrap them, and bring them home. This is a free event hosted by OPS Council!

Donations
In order for this event to happen, we rely on donations from our OPS parents and community. We are looking for gently used or new gift items that you can donate for the sale. You are not required to purchase anything new. We are looking for gift items for babies, kids, teens, men and women. We are always especially in need of gifts for men & teens. Some ideas of the types of items to send in include:

- Toys, books, games & DVDs
- Jewelry
- Bath products (new)
- Home decor items
- Small tools or electronics
- Outerwear (e.g., touques, scarves)
- Wrapping paper, gift bags, tissue paper, tags, bows & tape

If you're wondering how many donations to send in, one per immediate family member for each OPS student is great. For example, a family of 4 with 2 students attending OPS would send in 6 items as donations because the kids will be coming home with 3 gifts each.

Donations can be brought to the school from:
Monday, December 12 to Thursday, December 15

Sending your child to school with a reusable grocery bag on shopping day to bring their gifts home is a great idea too!

Volunteers
If you would like to volunteer for Holiday Shopping Day, there are 4 "shifts" for volunteers needed:

1. Thursday, Dec 15 (6 - 8 pm) - we need 10+ volunteers to help sort and set up all the donations in the gym 2. Friday, Dec 16 (8 - 11 am) - 5 or 6 volunteers to wrap gifts for the morning shift 3. Friday, Dec 16 (11 am - 2:30 pm) - 5 or 6 volunteers to wrap gifts for the remainder of the school day 4. Friday, Dec 16 (2:30 - 4:30 pm) - as many people as possible to tidy up the remaining gift items and put the gym back together. A couple of people willing to transport leftover items somewhere to donate (e.g., House of Lazarus) is also really helpful!
